- AUGUST 2008 :: >>> 6 WKS duration

A six week art workshop program designed to introduce the children, ages 4-5, to visualise and invent their own artworks based on the shapes and textures of nature. Materials such as seed pods, leaves, grasses and shells etc were used.

Once the children saw how the different seeds and leaves could be put together to form their pictures. I worked with a few children at a time and they were shown how to arrange their selections onto the sea grass mats provided and glue everything into place to create their nature artworks.

I was amazed to see how creative each child was with their own ideas of what each chosen animal would look like. With a little help in adding more varieties of shells, leaves, pods and grasses to their works, the artworks became more and more animated, giving way to the stories and naming of their new animal friends.
